Hyundai Motor is one of the fastest growing car makers in the globe and the company is continuously growing in terms of dependability and popularity. The Hyundai i30, which is also known as the Elantra in some car markets including India, has been proved to be the top selling passenger car in the month of June, 2013 beating the extremely popular Toyota Corolla and Mazda3 for the very first time.
Hyundai has gained this achievement on a technical ground that accounted for the sales figures of the i30 and the Elantra to be merged together as they are technically the same car except for the exterior styling that distinguishes the i30 as a hatchback and the Elantra as a sedan. The sales figures of the Hyundai i30 and Elantra combined together have outshone the sales numbers of the Mazda3 and Toyota Corolla.
This sales chart results have put Hyundai as a sales topper in 15 years after June 1998, when the low cost Hyundai Excel overtook the sales of Holden Commodore.
Meanwhile, the popular Toyota Corolla has overtaken the top selling Mazda3 which is due to be replaced by a next generation model in 2014. The Toyota HiLux utility topped the sells charts in the commercial vehicle segment.
The overall market is dominated by Toyota followed by Mazda, while Holden occupies the third place that is very closely followed by Hyundai. Hyundai might soon Holden in the overall market positioning as the latter’s sales continue to decline.
As for the sales rates of the month June, 2013 is concerned Hyundai had to battle to gain the third spot beating the car majors Ford, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Nissan.
Currently Hyundai is very busy working on the Fuel Cell project as the company prepares to launch its Hydrogen powered vehicles in the year 2015. Hyundai has also joined the H2USA program along with other global auto majors that also includes the globe’s auto leader Toyota. Hyundai is not only working full swing on the development of the Fuel Cell powered electric vehicles but as a member of the H2USA program also working to solve the lack of the hydrogen refueling infrastructure and promoting for the adoption of the Fuel Cell cars.
Hyundai is also set to bring in a slew of new cars to be offered in the global auto markets apart from working on the next generation models of several of its popular existing models. All the new cars from the house of Hyundai will boast of the company’s stunning and innovative Fluidic design philosophy.
