Hyundai’s quality offerings, coupled with innovative design and technological excellence have been sweeping over the global car consumers. The Hyundai cars are highly acclaimed all over the world, not only for the high quality and performance but also for the superior customer convenience. And owing to these qualities, the Hyundai Verna, which is known as the Hyundai Solaris in the car market of Russia, has become the second most selling car in the Russian market in the year 2013.
As per the records of the Association of European Businesses, Hyundai Motor has successfully sold 57,009 units of the Solaris to happy and satisfied Russian customers in the first half of this year that is between the month of January and June. The Hyundai Solaris/Verna’s sales rates were beaten by the hugely popular Lada Granta sedan from the house of AvtoVAZ. The Granta sold 84,241 units in the same period recording an astounding growth of 87 percent as compared to the same time period in the previous year.
Hyundai offers its classy and performing Verna that is sold as the Solaris in Russia in its petrol fuel option only. The Hyundai Solaris derives power from two petrol engine variants, namely a 1.4 liter as well as 1.6 liter petrol motor. Both the petrol engines deliver the generated power to the front wheels of the Solaris through manual as well as automatic transmission gearboxes depending on the model.
The Hyundai Solaris has a starting price tag of 459,000 Rubles (equivalent to about Rs. 8.36 lakh) for its base model, which goes up to 689,000 Rubles (equivalent to about Rs. 12.55 lakh) for its top of the line trim model.
During the first 6 months of the current year 2013, Hyundai Motor along with its sister concern Kia recorded 13.8 percent of the total new car sales in the Russian auto market. While Hyundai Motor achieved a total sales figure of 89,466 units between the month of January and June, Kia received even better volumes by selling a total 94,870 units.
Hyundai Motor has been very successful with the classy style and enhanced performance of the Verna model. In the Indian car market, the South Korean auto leader offered the Verna as an upgraded model to the very classy sedan Accent and was sold as a car above the Accent. The Hyundai Verna and the Accent are very similar cars, as the Verna was developed on the platform of the Accent, albeit with better styling, specifications and enhanced performance. In India, the older Accent is presently discontinued owing to its lost glory in the market, while the Verna is being sold successfully. The Accent on the other hand, is being popularly sold in the other international markets, and the Indian manufacturing facilities of Hyundai are still producing the car, solely for the export market.
Hyundai Motor is the largest exporter in India and exports a whole range of cars from India that are fully manufactured in the country as well.
