With multiple car launches lined up for Hyundai, the Korean car maker is indeed preparing for the launch of many of its successful car models. While the Indian arm of the Korean automobile manufacturer has already unveiled the Hyundai Grand i10, Hyundai Europe has also announced the launch of the 2014 Hyundai i10.
From the looks of it, it is evident that the Indian Grand i10 would not be the same as the Europe 2014 i10. Also, the new i10 to be launched in India, will have a new name, Grand i10 and is not a replacement for the current model in the market. On the other hand, the European model is believed to succeed the outgoing model and will not have a new name.
Outwardly, the European 2014 i10 looks quite similar to the new Grand i10. However, there are several changes. The front panel of the Euro-spec i10 features a set of daytime running lights. The side profile of the hatchback portrays a unique rear door design as well as the window line. The roof rails are missing in this model. The Euro 2014 i10 looks identical to the Grand i10 from the rear except for some distinct detailing seen near the rear windscreen.
The present generation Hyundai i10 is as close as a buyer can get for an Asian Kei hatchback in Europe, featuring narrow yet tall body and somewhat discomfited dimensions. The current Hyundai i10 is also prudent, smooth to drive and quite roomy. Most of the reviews of the present i10 highlight positive facts about the hatchback.
Hyundai has finally revealed the Grand i10 as well as the Europe 2014 i10. The new model of i10 is quite big and showcases a grown up look. The all-new model also sports a somewhat Ford look which is embedded in its design DNA. The new i10 also looks a bit like the B-Max on the front side. With the added length of the new model, it inevitably suggests that the new i10 will have copious space and is also believed to have one of the largest boot/trunk spaces in this segment.
The new i10 being quite spacious, passengers can comfortably move around in the cabin. The new model is 80 mm longer than the previous one. The wheelbase of the new model receives an enhancement of 5 mm. This implies that the overhangs look even more projected out. However, the wheel-at-each-corner design of the present i10 is still better than the new 2014 model. The new mode is also lower by -50mm and wider by +65 mm than its outgoing model. Compared to the current i10, the 2014 model will have its boot capacity increased by more than 10%, amounting to 252 liters with all the seats designed as they are.
COO and Senior Vice President of Hyundai Motor Europe, Allan Rushforth, added that the new generation i10 is another landmark achievement for Hyundai Motor. He further stated that every small aspect has been intelligently designed and meticulously developed to meet and even surpass the demands of the European customers.
