Hyundai Motor Australia has introduced a new SR model to the immensely successful all new i30 lineup. Developed on the i30 Elite hatchback’s basic specifications, the new i30 SR is the first i30 model in the globe to have Hyundai’s 2 liter direct injection petrol motor under its hood. The Hyundai i30 SR was first showcased at the 2012 Sydney motor show. This new car also features a unique suspension tune that was developed by Hyundai Australia itself in co-operation with the company’s chief Korean branch. Moreover, the new Hyundai i30 SR gets loads of sports related features on its exterior as well as interior.
In terms of exterior looks the new i30 SR looks stunning and sportier with tons of new enhancements to give it a distinct visual appeal. Its front fascia shows off sports front grill with black piano insert, HID Xenon headlights, 17 inch alloy wheels, while the back of the car boasts of LED tail lamps, sports diffuser and exclusive SR logo. The i30 SR also offers an optional panoramic glass sunroof.
On the inside, the Hyundai i30 SR adds several features on top of the already premium and world class equipments of the i30 Elite. These included features are: premium leather or leatherette upholstery, powered driver’s seat, electro-chromatic rear view mirror and alloy faced pedals.
The SR will also have several world-class features as standard across all trims, such as 7 airbags, push button start, 7 inch Satellite Navigation system, steering wheel mounted audio controls, Electric OVRMs, Rain sensor auto wipers, rear view camera &with parking assist, all 4 power windows, dual zone climate control along with automatic defog function, cruise control, supervision centre cluster and many others.
The new Hyundai i30 SR will be offered with 4 exterior color options; namely Phantom Black Mica, Creamy White, Brilliant Red Mica and an exclusive Hyper Silver Metallic. The SR will also feature a patent black interior as all i30 models.
The i30 SR gets its power from a 2 liter GDI 4 cylinder motor that has the ability to produce a peak power of 129kW and a peak torque of 209Nm which is remarkably higher than the entire i30 car range. The engine is coupled with either a six speed manual or six speed automatic transmission gearbox.
The fuel efficiency of the car is rated at 7.2L/100km with the manual transmission and 7.5L/100km with the automatic gearbox.
The new i30 SR also brings in a unique suspension tune that involves exclusive front springs and re-valved dampers. This suspension has been specially developed keeping the Australian driving conditions in mind. The i30 SR’s distinctive sports suspension offers highly responsive, enhanced and effort free handling of the car and very smooth and vibration free driving experience even while driving in low speeds and uneven surfaces.
