Recently Hyundai Santro car completed its 15 years of the launch by the company. Hyundai now plants to introduce a ‘Celebration Edition’ of a much popular Santro Xing. The developers at Hyundai are busy in giving the final touches to the Grand i10 as well which is slated for September launch this year.
The Grand i10 will be launched alongside the special edition Santro Xing. Thus, Hyundai has a lot to look up to as it is ready to launch two interesting products for the festive period in India.
The ‘Celebration Edition’ Santro Xing will be featuring a chrome garnish and unique decals. What has surprised the industry watchers is that the special edition Santro Xing will also feature Blaupunkt audio system, rear parking sensors, rear sun blind and also floor mats. However, all these features will be made available only in the GL Plus trim model. Though it is expected that Hyundai will not be charging for the additional inclusions, it will also offer buyers an exchange bonus of Rs. 15,000. The pricing of Hyundai Santro Xing is yet to be announced.
Needless to say, Hyundai has launched the Santro Xing Celebration Edition to celebrate the success of 15 years of completion of its India presence. To resonate with its entry in the Indian market with the launch of Santro, the Korean car manufacturer is bringing back the Santro in a ‘Celebration Edition’ with some added features. The Santro had helped Hyundai gain the 2nd position in the Indian automobile market.
The exteriors of the Santro Xing will feature stunning graphics, set of parking sensors and a chrome finish on the rear. The parking sensors are fitted with LED displays. The interiors of the Santro Xing Celebration Edition house the Blaupunkt stereo system, floor mats and a manual rear sun blind. A finance option at 7.44% is also offered by Hyundai to entice buyers.
The Santro Xing ‘Celebration Edition’ will be sold only with the GL Plus model of Santro. Hyundai will be offering Mushroom, Sleek Silver and Coral White color options for the special edition model of the Santro Xing. Buyers also have the option to choose between LPG and petrol engine options.
The Hyundai i10 was launched in the year 2007 in the Indian market. It was the next generation Atos/Santro in global markets. However, Hyundai continued to sell both generations simultaneously. With the unique additions to the Celebration Edition model, Hyundai is trying to revive the sales of the Santro, which is now moving into oblivion. It wants to portray the hatchback as a feature-packed, cost efficient car for small Indian families.
It is confirmed that the Grand i10 will be launched in the month of September. Since the Grand i10 happens to be the next generation i10 in international markets, Hyundai will be achieved a rare feat of marketing three generations of a car at the same time if it does not discontinue the Santro.
