The recently upgraded Hyundai Verna sedan launched in 2013 has a few changes to its exterior body and interiors to make it more appealing and durable. To improve visibility on foggy days, LED daytime running lights have been incorporated into headlights cluster. Back lit buttons have been provided for audio controls mounted on steering wheel and also on power windows to give its interiors a more upmarket appearance. Its alloy wheels have been restyled while rear seats have only two headrests instead of previous three. To keep it affordable the new Hyundai Verna 2013 will be sold at old price of INR 7.8 lakhs only. The new car has been renamed as Hyundai Verna Transform due to its improved structure and is available in four petrol and one diesel trims.
Exterior and Interior Changes – Verna Transform’s exterior body designed on Hyundai’s fluidic design philosophy is sleek and futuristic thereby giving the car a distinctive appearance. Its rear appears modern from all angles due to sharply curved lights with turn indicators on its bumper along with slightly up-tilted boot cover. Chrome finished front grille, exhaust pipes and door handles give a sophisticated look to the car when teamed up with chrome garnished rear end. Its tiny fog lamps in front appear hidden due to eyelet design while at the rear taillights are equally attractive.
The car’s tilt adjustable seats make it easy for relaxation and sleep during overnight drive for rear passengers while sliding front armrest can be used to make space for driver. The upgraded Verna has a twin dial instrument cluster with chrome exteriors in front with blue background light. Its interior fabrics have been replaced with softer and tougher fabric while lower adjustable seats which provide more legroom to both front and rear passengers. The Verna Transform is equipped with climate control, vanity mirror, cup holders and hidden compartments to provide comfort to passengers. The Verna Transform has a fluidic tachometer with central console designed like a waterfall to provide more legroom to front passenger. Its large glove box with cooler is best for storing water or beverages in hot weather.
Engine, Safety and Performance
The Verna’s 1.5 liter petrol and 1.6 liter diesel engines have unbeatable mileage of 17.4 kmpl since it is tuned for optimum power generation. Safety for passengers and driver is assured due to combination of ABS and six airbags located at strategic places in the car. Its diesel version has a four speed and five speed automatic transmission with two trims. Its engine is capable of providing 100 bhp power and sports McPherson struts with sub-frame torsion beam to provide suspension balance. The car’s brakes and suspension is strong on both rough and smooth roads. Its collision sensor tightens seatbelts for protection while doors unlock on impact to allow passengers to move out. Also its doors lock automatically once car achieves speed of 15kmpl to avoid usual problems with open doors.
