Hyundai i10 Grand sedan and 2014 Honda City diesel-Battle between two innovative design technologies

This is an exciting period for Indian car buyers; there are a range of new products up for grabs. Hyundai had introduced the i10 Grand hatch, few months ago, and the demand for the car since launch has been enormous. It should be, because i10 Grand is a bigger version of i10 hatch, packed with high tech features for its price.

The launch of i10 Grand has fuelled customer excitement levels, for some stunning news Hyundai is geared to unveil the sedan version of the car. Hyundai fans will be curious as to what lies inside the i10 Grand sedan. The base design formula of i10 Grand sedan is adopted from i10 Grand hatchback. The sedan will sport a longer wheelbase. The exteriors will undergo slight tweak modifications in order to increase the boot volume and roof line is slightly compressed. Hyundai i10 Grand sedan is expected to have an increased length dimension of almost four meters compared to i10 Grand.

The exteriors of i10 Grand sedan sounds interesting, now the next curiosity factor is the interiors, taking into accounted the improved length measurement compared to i10 Grand hatch. The insides will display a completely new image with world class fabric material. The comfort levels are expected to be shockingly high with reclining seats at back thus leading to additional boot volume. Hyundai i10 Grand sedan will have a 1.2 liter VTVT kappa petrol engine and a diesel 1.1 liter U2 engine. The diesel car will be mated to four speed automatic and five speed manual transmission. The petrol engine is expected to pump out 114Nm and 82 bhp and the diesel engine is likely to churn 160Nm and 70bhp. The car is expected to maneuver on impressive mileage figures of 24kmpl.

The launch of i10 Grand sedan will intensify the stiff competition that exists in sedan segment. There is yet another exciting upcoming model from Honda called fourth-gen City diesel. Honda has yielded phenomenal results with its first diesel project called Amaze. Car enthusiasts and Honda car fans will certainly bet on similar fortune tales with fourth gen Honda City diesel.

The new Honda City diesel has a new design theme attached to it called ‘Exciting H Design, adopted from the new Honda Jazz or Fit. The car is inserted with a potent 1.5 liter I VTEC mill expected to churn 145NM and 119PS. The diesel I DTEC engine will run on a 1.5 liter capacity and will pump out 200Nm and 100PS.

The insides of fourth gen Honda City diesel are packed with features such as cruise control, 4 charge points, 8 speakers, back air con vents, stop or start function, touch screen AC devise, sun roof, world class music system and audio controls on steering. The car will generate admirable mileage figures of 26kmpl.

The launch of Hyundai i10 Grand sedan and 2014 Honda City diesel is a whole new competition wave in sedan segment. Here the competition does not stop at exterior appeal, engine capacity, mileage and interior luxury. It is the battle between two advanced design technologies, which is Fluidic design philosophy with Hyundai i10 Grand sedan, and Exciting H Design in 2014 Honda City diesel.
