New Hyundai cars are definitely a matter of great excitement for the car enthusiasts. The South Korean auto maker that holds the second position in the Indian car industry has recently charmed the Indian audience with the launch of the Hyundai Grand i10, which became an instant success post its 3rd, September launch. Now, the car major is about to launch more new models in the domestic car market of India.
According to reports, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) is all set to launch the new Santa Fe in the month of February, 2014.
The good looking Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) with the seating capacity of 7 adult passengers is pitched against another greater looker, Toyota Fortuner that is the current segment leader. So far, Hyundai has been selling the Santa Fe in the Indian market as Completely Built Units (CBU). However, in the case of the upcoming new model of the Santa Fe, Hyundai will be assembling the vehicles in its Chennai car factory. As the South Korean car major will be assembling the new Santa Fe locally it is also likely that the car maker will also reduce its price tag, which will further help to gain more sales volume.
In the international car markets, the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe is being offered in two options of petrol engine. The global Santa Fe is powered by a 2 liter turbo charged petrol mill as well as a 2.4 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine. The SUV is also offered in few markets packed with a 2.2 liter petrol mill, and the new model will be powered by this motor as well. All these three petrol engines are coupled with a 6 speed automatic transmission gearbox.
The new Hyundai Santa Fe is expected to have a starting price tag at around Rs. 22 lakhs for the basic model or the two wheel drive diesel variant that comes with manual gearbox. The same model is also expected to be offered an automatic version as well. The all 4 wheel drive model of the Santa Fe will be available only with an automatic transmission.
The 2013 Santa Fe flaunts Hyundai’s Storm Edge design that is inspired from the much acclaimed Fluidic sculpture design philosophy. On the inside, the new Santa Fe will come with a new stylized dashboard and a whole lot of up-class materials. The vehicle will also be loaded with an extravaganza of world-class features.
